Management of citrus scale, Chrysomphalus aonidum (Hemiptera : Diaspididae) on Coorg mandarin (Citrus reticulata)

Abstract


Field experiments were conducted at Central Horticultural Experiment Station, Chettalli, Kodagu, Karnataka, during 2013-14 to evaluate seven insecticides, an organic salt and neem oil against citrus scale, Chrysomphalus aonidum (Hemiptera : Diaspididae) on Coorg mandarin. Results revealed that after 5 days of treatment scale population reduction was noticed consistently in deltamenthrin @ 1.5ml/L, followed by imidacloprid (0.3ml/L), thiamethoxam (0.25g/L), profenofos (1ml/L) and acephate (1g/L) (F=10.23; df=9; p
