A NEW ACARICIDE AC-303-630 (CHLORFENAPYR 10 EC) AGAINST CARNATION MITE, Tetranychus cinnabarinus Boisd

Abstract


Carmine mite, Tetranychus cinnaharinus Boisd. is most important pest of  carnation and other ornamental plants. Studies were undertaken for evaluating the efficacy of new  acaricides i.e. chlorfenapyr IOEC (AC~303, 630) at 250, 500 and 1000 ml/ha, fluvalinate 25 EC  @ 500 ml/ha, and dicofol l8.5 EC @ 1500 ml/ha and flufenoxuron (Cascade l0EC) @ 500 ml/l1a  against carmine mite infesting carnation in polyhouse. Among the pesticides tested chlorfenapyr  10 EC at 500 ml/ha was most effective. Fluvalinate 25 EC @ 500 ml/ha was effective for one  week in suppressing mite population.
